February 28, 2011ATTLEBORO, Ma. - Southern Vermont College senior guard Lance Spratling (Pittsfield, Mass.), a history and politics major, was named the 2010-11 NECC Men’s Basketball Player of the Year. Taeshon Johnson was named ALL-NECC Men's Basketball Second team and Ben Naaktegboren was named Honorable mention. -
Men’s Basketball Falls in Semifinals
February 25, 2011Leicester, Mass. – Elms College defeated Southern Vermont 88-71 in New England Collegiate Conference men’s basketball semifinal action tonight on the campus of Becker College. With the win Elms will face #1 seed Becker College tomorrow at 2pm for the championship. -
Men’s Basketball Advances to NECC Semifinals
February 22, 2011BENNINGTON, VT- The third seed Southern Vermont College Men’s Basketball team advanced to the NECC semifinals with a 63-60 quarterfinal victory over sixth seeded Daniel Webster Tuesday night at the Mountaineer Athletic Center. It is the first playoff victory for SVC since 2003-2004 when the Mountaineers advanced to the GNAC championship game. -

February 19, 2011BENNINGTON, VT.- Senior guard Lance Spratling finished his regular season career at Southern Vermont College with a 29 point performance to lead the Mountaineers against the visiting Newbury College Nighthawks. Spratling went 10-13 from the field including 6-9 from behind the arc. The win improves the Mountaineers record to 15-10 9-5NECC while the Nighthawks drop to 10-14 8-6 NECC. -

January 29, 2011BROOKLINE, Ma. - The Newbury College men’s basketball team upset Southern Vermont College, 77-62, Saturday afternoon in NECC action. Five Nighthawks scored in double-figures led by sophomore guard Tim Young with 20 points. Sophomore forward Rondell Best recorded his first double-double of the season tallying 11 points and 11 boards. Southern Vermont’s junior forward Ben Naaktgeboren matched Young with 20 points scored in their defeat. -
