  • Summer Basketball Camps Offered at Southern Vermont College

    BENNINGTON, Vt. – Southern Vermont College Men’s Basketball presents its 2009 Summer Basketball Camps to be conducted Monday, August 10 through Friday, August 17. There will be two camp sessions: 8:30 a.m. - 12:00 p.m. for boys entering grades 7-9, and 1:00 p.m. - 4:30 p.m. for boys entering grades 10-12 with a fee of only $100 for the week.

Three student-athletes were voted to All-Conference teams and the men’s team garnered the NECC Men’s Basketball Team Sportsmanship Award.

Junior forward Joe Karnik powered his way to a double-double with 24 points and 18 rebounds for the Mountaineers that finished the season 7-18.

    CHICOPEE, Mass., - Southern Vermont men’s basketball captain Joe Karnik’s (Cambridge, N.Y.) season and career high 34 points and a team season high 88 points was not enough to stifle the offensive blast of NECC leader Elms College Saturday at Maguire Center as they fell 123-88. Southern Vermont was also hot from the field, as it shot 56.6-percent for the game, but was plagued by 41 turnovers.
