MIDDLEBURY, Vt. - The SVC men's basketball team fell to host Middlebury College, 92-47, in non-conference action on Tuesday.
The Mountaineers (4-11) were playing their first game without injured captain Joe Karnik, and couldn't have picked a tougher foe than the 19th-ranked Panthers. SVC was led by Ben Naaktgeboren (17 points, 14 rebounds), Jaret Falkowitz (10 points) and Cam Herrington (7 points, 10 rebounds), but simply didn't match up with its hosts.
"We were just out-manned," SVC head coach Mike McDonough said. "We're hurting for numbers as it is, and Middlebury is worth every bit of their No. 19 ranking."
The Panthers (17-2) were led by Ben Ruden and Ashton Coughlan, who scored 13 points apiece. The Mountaineers return to action on Thursday at Lesley at 8 p.m.
