A total of 95 student-athletes have been named to the New England Collegiate Conference (NECC) Academic All-Conference Team for the winter/spring semester, it was announced today by Commissioner Del Malloy.
ATTLEBORO, Mass. All six sponsored programs were represented on 2010 New England Collegiate Conference (NECC) Baseball All-Conference Team, it was announced today by Commissioner Del Malloy. In addition to the All-NECC honors, four separate major individual award winners and the team sportsmanship award were also voted upon and selected this week.
NASHUA, N.H. The Southern Vermont College baseball team fell in the NECC Quarterfinal game 12-5 against the NECC number one seeded Eagles of Daniel Webster College Friday morning. The Becker College Hawks, who lost to Mitchell College in the afternoon game, defeated SVC in an exciting 5-4 finish in the nightcap. The Mountaineers finished the season 12-22.

The Southern Vermont College baseball team split its doubleheader against NECC foe the Becker College Hawks winning game one 11-7 and losing game two 9-1 Saturday afternoon at Epstein Field. Junior third baseman Dane Flavinregistered three legs of the cycle, helping the Union College baseball team to rally for a 10-9 victory against Southern Vermont on Thursday afternoon. Flavin picked up a single, double and triple, going 3-for-4 on the day with four runs batted in. The win improves Union to 8-24, while the loss moves Southern Vermont to 11-18.

HOLYOKE, Mass. The Southern Vermont College baseball team split in New England Collegiate Conference (NECC) action against the Elms College Blazers Tuesday night at MacKenzie Stadium. Elms won the continuation of Sundays game, 9-3 in seven innings, before falling 8-7 in the nine-inning contest. With the split Elms improves to 7-17 overall, 3-6 in league play, while Southern Vermont moves to 10-13 on the season, 4-5 in the NECC.

The Southern Vermont College baseball team fell in New England Collegiate Conference play to the Elms College Blazers 12-7 and the second game was postponed due to inclement weather with the Blazers up 1-0 in the top of the third. The Mountaineers only offense came from sophomore centerfielder Pat Warrington who went 3-for-4 with a solo blast to right center in the sixth inning.

The Mountaineers were led by sophomores Eric Wells and Pat Warrington who combined for nine RBIs on the night. Freshman pitcher Max Ginter (1-1) picked up his first win in his collegiate career on the hill for SVC.
BENNINGTON, Vt. The Southern Vermont College baseball team defeated the Massachusetts College of Liberal Arts 8-7 Wednesday night at Epstein Field. SVCs hot bats knocked 15 hits on the day. Brothers Adam and Dave Northup each hit RBI singles in the bottom of the tenth inning to score the tying and winning runs. Freshman right fielder Joel DeFedele was clutch at the plate with the bases loaded tallying four RBIs.
BENNINGTON, Vt. The Southern Vermont College baseball team was defeated 22-3 in non-conference action by the Thoroughbreds of Skidmore College Tuesday night on Epstein Field. Senior shortstop Brett Pawlak led the way offensively for SVC going 2-for-4 with an RBI and a run scored.
Southern Vermont (7-10 overall, 3-3 NECC) pounded out 17 hits in the contest, and every starting position player contributed with at least one hit. Eric Wells led the way for the Mountaineers by going 4-for-6 at the plate and driving in four runs.
NEW LONDON, Conn. The Southern Vermont College baseball team split a doubleheader against New England Collegiate Conference foe the Mariners of Mitchell College losing the the first game 4-0 and winning the second 11-8. Southern Vermont (6-10 overall, 2-3 NECC) came from behind twice in the second game before handing the Mariners their first conference loss. Pat Warrington went 2-for-3 with six RBI, including a grand slam in the sixth, to lead the way for the Mountaineers.
NORTH ADAMS, Mass. The Southern Vermont College baseball team lost a wild one 9-8 after scoring five runs in the ninth on the road against the Massachusetts College of Liberal Arts Thursday night at the Joe Zavattaro Complex. The MCLA bullpen nearly handed the game to SVC as Dave Gage knocked a single to leftfield that drove in two runs, Pat Warrington had an RBI single, and Eric Wells homered to tie the game at 8-8 in the ninth.
WHITINSVILLE, Mass. - The Southern Vermont College baseball team was edged out twice in non-conference action Saturday against the Worcester State College Lancers dropping the first decision 3-1 and the second 5-4 at the Northbridge Middle School baseball field. Sophomore Pat Warrington hit a triple for the second straight game and Eric Wells tallied three RBIs as the Mountaineers were defeated twice by the Lancers.

Don Schaffer, Assistant Director of Athletics and Head Baseball Coach, has been named to the executive board of the New England Intercollegiate Baseball Association as the representative for Vermont. Don has been a member of this organization since 2000.
