Softball Runs into Record Books with Doubleheader Sweep of Regis: W 4-3, W 5-2
April 27, 2013The Southern Vermont College softball team made history Saturday afternoon as it recorded the most wins in program history (9) with a pair of New England Collegiate Conference (NECC) wins over Regis College at Willow Park. The Mountaineers took the first game 4-3 before concluding the sweep with a 5-2 victory.

Softball Sweeps Home DH vs. SUNY Cobleskill: W 12-3 (5), W 3-2
April 23, 2013Timely hitting and great defense propelled the Southern Vermont College Mountaineers to sweep visiting with SUNY Cobleskill 12-3 and 3-2 wins at Willow Park Tuesday afternoon. A three-run fourth inning preceded Mountaineers scoring seven unanswered runs in the fifth which was cut short due to the eight run mercy rule. Southern Vermont tied the game in the bottom of the third with a leadoff home run from sophomore starting pitcher Emily Fleming (Saratoga Springs, N.Y.). She also drove in five runs on the day.

April 15, 2013Timely hitting and strong defensive play helped carry the visiting Lesley University softball team over Southern Vermont College in a New England Collegiate Conference (NECC) doubleheader at Willow Park on Monday afternoon. The Lynx took Game 1 8-1 with a seven-run third, and junior pitcher Jennifer Dorval (Franklin, N.H.) threw a no-hitter in five innings of work in Lesley’s 9-0 day-cap victory.

April 14, 2013Sophomore catcher Meagan Fleming (Gansevoort, N.Y). went 7-8 and knocked in 12 runs to lead the Southern Vermont College softball team to a doubleheader sweep over host Wheelock College in New England Collegiate Conference (NECC) play Sunday afternoon at the Pine Manor College Softball Field in Chestnut Hill, Mass. The Mountaineers won the first game, 16-0, and the second tilt, 17-2.

April 13, 2013Elms College freshman shortstop Taylor Skinner (South Windsor, Conn.) was 2 for 2 with three RBI’s in game one, and freshman pitcher Jamie Miner (Chicopee, Mass.) scattered four hits and struck out six batters in a complete-game effort in game two to help the Blazers post wins of 9-0 (5 innings) and 1-0 in New England Collegiate Conference (NECC) softball action versus Southern Vermont College at Cheryl R. April 06, 2013Southern Vermont College Softball dropped two at Becker College in New Englad Collegiate Conference (NECC) action Saturday afternoon. BC sophomore shortstop Megan Bolduc (Dover, N.H.) hit a walk-off grand slam over the centerfield wall to lead the hosts to a 10-6 win in game two of the doubleheader at Russell Field. Earlier, Becker won the first game, 4-3 in the Hawks’ home-opener.
