BENNINGTON, Vt. – The New England Collegiate Conference (NECC) announced Thursday the Academic All-Conference Team for the 2013 spring semester with four members being representatives from Southern Vermont College.
The 124 NECC student-athletes named to the Academic All-Conference Team are members of the conference’s men's basketball, women's basketball, men's volleyball, baseball, softball, men's lacrosse, women's lacrosse and men's tennis teams. To be eligible for the NECC Academic All-Conference, a student-athlete must post a minimum grade point average of 3.40 on a scale of 4.00 and must be a sophomore or higher in class standings.

Baseball’s Jarod Hayen (Esperance, N.Y.) and softball’s Shelby Jones (Hoosick Falls, N.Y.) were also the recipients of the College’s 2012-13 Male & Female Scholar Athlete Awards, respectively, back in late April.
Baseball reliever Sean McKay (Mystic, Conn.) and softball starting pitcher and first baseman Emily Fleming (Saratoga Springs, N.Y.) rounded out the SVC list of student-athletes named to the spring team.
