June 06, 2017Nearly one month after graduating with her bachelor’s degree, Mel Orrell ‘17 (Gloucester, Mass.) continues to set firsts for Southern Vermont College as the women’s lacrosse alumna was named to the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) 2016-17 Academic All-America® Division III Women’s At-Large Third Team on Tuesday.

SVC Baseball Lends Helping Hand at Pasadena’s Foothill Unity Center During Spring Break Trip Out West
March 21, 2017The Southern Vermont College baseball team spent its Spring Break playing in the California Invitational at six collegiate institutions throughout the Los Angeles area. One of the Mountaineers’ off days, however, was spent helping out at the Foothill Unity Center—a multi-service food pantry and one of the most respected and effective local nonprofits in Southern California.

Southern Vermont College Celebrates National Girls & Women in Sports Day for First Time
March 11, 2017Last Sunday, Southern Vermont College participated in its first National Girls & Women in Sports Day (NGWSD) by welcoming over 50 girls ages 6-13 to the Mountaineer Athletic Center for a celebration of female athletes and their accomplishments.

SVC to Host Free Girls & Women in Sports Day this Sunday!
February 28, 2017The Athletic Department and Office of Civic Engagement at Southern Vermont College (SVC) will host a Girls & Women in Sports Day on Sunday, March 5, from 9:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Mountaineer Athletic Center. This event is a day of free clinics and interaction between SVC's women athletes from lacrosse, basketball, volleyball and softball, and all aspiring athletes, ages 6 to 13. Sign-up is strongly encouraged but walk-ins are welcome.
