    ATTLEBORO, Mass. – Two Mountaineers on the women’s soccer team received recognition from the NECC this fall. Shawnee Webster was named to the Second-Team and Catrina Cecchini was named to the Honorable-Mention Team.

    BOSTON, Mass. – Junior Adriana Perry broke a tie with 10:22 remaining, sending the Wheelock College women's soccer team to a 2-1 victory over Southern Vermont College on Senior Day in a New England Collegiate Conference (NECC) contest at Winsor Field. Perry's goal, which capped a 4:50 flurry during which all of the game's scoring occurred, helped the Wildcats end the campaign at 1-15 overall and 1-7 in the league. The Mountaineers finish up at 0-16 and 0-8.

The Mountaineers celebrated “senior day” recognizing the accomplishments of Kiara Bates, Washington, D.C., and Amber Coutermash, Westport, Conn.

    BROOKLINE, Mass. - The Newbury College women’s soccer team defeated Southern Vermont College in a NECC conference match, 6-1, Saturday afternoon. With the win, the Nighthawks improve to 3-2-1 in the conference and 5-7-2 overall while the Mountaineers fall to 0-7 in the NECC and 0-14 overall.

    BENNINGTON, Vt. – The Southern Vermont College women’s soccer team fell Tuesday, October 19, 2-0 to New England Collegiate Conference foe the Becker College Hawks on Everett Field. Sophomores Caroline Plunkett and Justine LeBlanc led the Hawks with a goal each in the second half.

    BENNINGTON, Vt. – The Southern Vermont College women’s soccer team was defeated 3-0 by New England Collegiate Conference foe the Bay Path College Wildcats Saturday afternoon at Everett Field. Freshman keeper Catrina Cecchini nabbed 25 saves on the day to bring her season total to 213. Bay Path’s Keelin Dougherty had two goals to lead the Wildcats.

    BENNINGTON, Vt. – Visiting non-conference in-state foe the Johnson State College Badgers defeated the Southern Vermont College Mountaineers 6-0 Tuesday on Everett Field. Six different Badgers scored in the game that saw many nice stops from SVC keeper freshman Catrina Cecchini who had 31 saves on the day.

    NASHUA, N.H. – Daniel Webster College defeated NECC rival Southern Vermont College 7-0 Sunday at Eagle Field as Jennifer Trombley and Becca Jordan each netted two goals apiece to lead the Eagles to victory.

  • Women’s Soccer Loses Homecoming to Mariners

    BENNINGTON, Vt. – On a beautiful Homecoming day, Southern Vermont College played their first NECC game of the season against Mitchell College. The Mariners defeated the SVC 6-0. Mitchell College improved to 3-4 overall and 1-0 in the NECC while SVC dropped to 0-7 overall and 0-1 in the NECC.

The Mountaineers stayed in the game with strong defense led by Danielle Celotto and great goalkeeping by Catrina Cecchini who finished with 23 saves.

    WESTON, Mass. – The Regis College women’s soccer team defeated Southern Vermont College1-0 Saturday at the Regis College Athletic Fields. This was the Prides first win of the season. The Pride outshot the Mountaineers 21-1 in the first half. But the Mountaineers goal keeper Catrina Cecchini kept her team in the game by making 25 saves.

    BENNINGTON, Vt. – The Southern Vermont College women’s soccer team fell 5-0 in its non-conference home opener against the Morrisville State College Mustangs Wednesday night at Everett Field. Mountaineer freshman goalie Catrina Cecchini had 17 saves at the frame. Mustangs Beth Fisher and Nicole Geier each had two goals apiece in the contest.
