BENNINGTON, Vt. – The Southern Vermont College women’s soccer team was defeated 3-0 by New England Collegiate Conference foe the Bay Path College Wildcats Saturday afternoon at Everett Field. Freshman keeper Catrina Cecchini nabbed 25 saves on the day to bring her season total to 213. Bay Path’s Keelin Dougherty had two goals to lead the Wildcats.
The Mountaineers (0-10, 0-3 NECC) fought hard and held the Wildcats to a scoreless second-half but could not generate any offense. Bay Path (2-9, 1-3 NECC) also had a goal from Sarah Azevedo (1:46). Jacqui Siddle assisted Dougherty on both her goals, as the Wildcats outshot SVC 39-3.
SVC is back in action Wednesday, October 13th, when it travels to Elms College for NECC action.
