ATTLEBORO, Mass. – Southern Vermont College freshman Nick Langat (Silver Spring, Md.) has been named the New England Collegiate Conference (NECC) Men's Soccer Rookie of the Week for the period ending October 22, 2017 as announced by league on Monday.

Langat was instrumental in SVC's big 3-1 victory at Newbury College on Saturday. He scored the first two goals of the match—including what proved to be his first collegiate game winner. That result gave Southern Vermont its most NECC wins since 2011.

Langat and the Mountaineers are back in action on Wednesday when they host Green Mountain College for a 3 p.m. non-conference matchup.
