CAMBRIDGE, Mass. — Southern Vermont College wrapped up its 2015 season Saturday afternoon, falling 4-1 at Lesley University in New England Collegiate Conference (NECC) men's soccer action at Edward Field.
The hosting Lynx struck three times in the opening period before SVC got on the board after the intermission. Lesley would keep Southern Vermont from mounting a comeback, however, as it added an insurance goal en route to the league victory.
The Mountaineers (4-14, 2-6 NECC) cut into the LU lead in the 70th minute when freshman Anthony Dominguez (Los Angeles, Calif.) took a through ball from senior captain James Tschinkel (Freehold, N.Y.) near the penalty dot. He then chipped a shot into the back of net, his team-leading eighth goal of the year making it a 3-1 affair on Tschinkel's fourth helper of the season. Lesley wouldn't allow SVC to get any closer, instead scoring once more to gain separation with about 15 minutes left to play.
Southern Vermont freshman keeper Noah Chani (Hoosick Falls, N.Y.) made six saves in the effort.
