NORTHFIELD, Vt. – The Southern Vermont College men's soccer team fell 4-0 Wednesday night at Norwich University's Haynes Family Stadium in non-conference action.
The Cadets scored two goals in each half with sophomore Jacob Zimmerman (Litchfield, New Hampshire) notching one before and after the break to total nine on the season. Norwich sophomore Moab Schiers (South Webster, Utah) had a goal and an assist in the win.
Norwich senior goaltender Christian Hallstrom (Las Vegas, Nevada) turned away three Mountaineer shots in picking up the win (5-3-1). SVC freshman keeper Cody Gross (Fair Lawn, New Jersey) made 13 saves in the loss (0-7).
The Mountaineers (0-7) now look ahead to this weekend's New England Collegiate Conference-opening match against Lesley University, a game to be played at 3 p.m. during SVC's Homecoming Weekend on Saturday. The Cadets (5-3-1) turn back to Great Northeast Athletic Conference play on Saturday, visiting Lasell College for a 1 p.m. start.
