CENTERVILLE, Mass. – Southern Vermont College men's soccer forward junior Nick Haggerty was named the Eastern Collegiate Athletic Conference New England Co-Offensive Player of the Week Tuesday, October 12.
The Mountaineer had a stellar six goal week, five coming in a 5-2 Mountaineer New England Collegiate Conference victory over Elms College. In that contest, the junior forward scored four of his goals in a nine-minute span.
He also added another goal in the SVC 4-2 loss against Skidmore College.
Haggerty has 11 goals thus far in 2010. He currently has 29 goals in his collegiate career which ties him for fourth all-time at SVC with Tony Kasulinous (class of 1993, 29 goals, 27 assists, 85 total points). Haggerty's current career point total is 73, which means he is well on his way to joining SVC's 100 Point-Club.
The captain's success has not gone unnoticed by the ECAC as he was named an ECAC 2009 Division III New England Men's Soccer First Team All-Star.
