Eagles Slip by Mountaineer Men’s Soccer, 1-0

BENNINGTON, Vt. The Southern Vermont College men’s soccer team fell to non-conference in-state foe the Green Mountain College Eagles 1-0 on Everett Field Wednesday night. The Mountaineers’ defense played phenomenally but a late unassisted goal by sophomore forward Chris Gaskin in the 87th minute of play was enough for the “W”.

Southern Vermont is now 3-2 overall, while Green Mountain improved to 1-5. SVC had 15 shots to GMC’s 7. Junior goalkeeper Aaron Eschler had three saves for the Mountaineers, while Eagles sophomore Nate Kishbaugh nabbed four saves in the shutout victory.

Southern Vermont is back in action Sunday, September 19, when it travels to Middlebury College for a 2:00 p.m. game.
