BENNINGTON, Vt. – The New England Collegiate Conference (NECC) announced on Monday its weekly winter award winners for the period ending November 27, 2016 with Southern Vermont College senior Nate Goldsmith (Capitol Heights, Md.) taking claim to the Men's Basketball Player of the Week honor.

Goldsmith continued his strong start to the season last week, averaging a double-double as he now has three on the young campaign. He notched 20.5 points and 12.5 boards per game, adding 3.0 assists and 1.5 steals to his week's line.

The senior tallied 18 points and 14 rebounds in an 11-point SVC win over Johnson State College on Tuesday, and he then had a game-high 23 points to go with 11 boards in a close loss to Castleton University on Sunday.

This is the first career weekly Conference honor for the Mountaineer.

Goldsmith and Southern Vermont begin NECC action this week, heading to Regis College on Thursday for an 8 p.m. tip-off which will be a rematch of the 2016 tournament semifinals.
