BENNINGTON, Vt. — For the second consecutive week, the New England Collegiate Conference (NECC) has named Southern Vermont College freshman Daemond Carter (Forestville, Maryland) the Men's Basketball Rookie of the Week, this time for the period ending January 25, 2015.

Carter had another solid week off the bench for the Mountaineers, helping them go 3-0 in conference action to stay undefeated in NECC play. He scored nine points in a Tuesday win over Becker, SVC's first in program history, going 3-4 from three-point range. Carter averaged 4.3 points, 1.3 rebounds and 1.3 assists per game for the week.

The rookie and the Mountaineers are off this week until Saturday when they visit Lesley University for what is currently a 2 p.m. tip-off, start time possible to change.
