BENNINGTON, Vt.- The Lesley Lynx used ten three pointers to get a narrow 69-62 victory over the Southern Vermont College Mountaineers, in New England Collegiate Conference Men's basketball action. Lesley beat the Mountaineers for only the second time at the Mountaineer Athletic Center in the two teams history.

Lynx guard Mike Kaufman was 8-10 from beyond the arc off the bench to provide the difference in the game. The Mountaineers only connected on five three pointers as Lesley had 10. Kaufman finished the game with 26 points for the victors. Senior John Sanchez had 21 points for Lesley as Alex Perez connected on 8-8 from the line for 10 points.

Southern Vermont had three players in double figures. Taeshon Johnson led the way with 21 points, while the Bennington native duo Hunter Stratton and Travis Severs collected 15 and 12 respectively. Johnson had nine rebounds to go along with eight boards from Stratton and Cory Chirstensen.

At the break the Mountaineers led 30-29, behind 50% shooting from field. In the second half the Lynx shot above 50% and outscored SVC 40-32 for the victory.

Southern Vermont led 49-48 with 10 minutes to go but back to back three pointers from Kaufman gave the Lynx a lead they would not relinquish. SVC cut the deficit to 62-60 with two minutes remaining, however Lesley finished the game on a 7-2 run.

SVC drops to 1-12 overall and 1-4 in NECC play. The Lynx have now won two straight in conference play and sit at 2-3 in the NECC. Southern Vermont will travel to take on Elms College with tip scheduled for 7PM, Lesley will host Daniel Webster at 8PM.
