ATTLEBORO, Mass. – The New England Collegiate Conference (NECC) announced on Monday its weekly award winners for the period ending April 1, 2018 with Southern Vermont College freshman lefty Dylan Ramirez (Orlando, Fla.) being selected as the league's Baseball Rookie of the Week.

Ramirez picked up his first collegiate win over the weekend as he made a stellar appearance out of the SVC bullpen on Saturday. He tossed a scoreless five innings of relief while striking out three for the Mountaineers to secure the first of their two wins over Dean College. When the Southern Vermont freshman entered in the bottom of the fifth, SVC was only winning 9-7; Ramirez blanked the Bulldogs the rest of the way, however, while his offense provided some insurance for an 18-7 victory.

Ramirez and the Mountaineers are back in Conference action Tuesday for their next game as SVC heads to Elms College for a 7 p.m. first pitch.
