BENNINGTON, Vt. — Sunday night, the New England Collegiate Conference (NECC) announced its weekly award winners for the period ending March 21, 2015 with Southern Vermont College freshman Jean-Carlos Berasgoico (New York, New York) being tabbed the Pitcher of the Week.

Berasgoico had a stellar outing in his first collegiate start on the bump, going the distance to record a seven-inning complete game shutout over Crown on Monday. The rookie struck out eight batters while giving up just two hits on the day for the Mountaineers' first win in their trip to Florida.

The rookie hurler was joined in obtaining weekly Conference accolades by junior second baseman RJ Pingitore (Amsterdam, New York) who was bestowed with the NECC Player of the Week honor.

The Mountaineers are back in action this week with a Wednesday non-conference game at Eastern Nazarene College (11 a.m.) before starting the NECC slate with a weekend series at Newbury College.
