BENNINGTON, Vt. — Southern Vermont freshman right-handed hurler Jean-Carlos Berasgoico (New York, New York) continues to be honored for his performance in Florida, being named the Corvias Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) Division III New England Baseball Pitcher of the Week for the period ending March 22, 2015 as announced on Tuesday.

The rookie righty was selected as the New England Collegiate Conference (NECC) Pitcher of the Week Sunday night, leading to his ECAC nod. All players who are from ECAC-member institutions and are then chosen for weekly accolades by their respective conference are eligible for ECAC consideration.

Berasgoico had a stellar outing in his first collegiate start on the bump, going the distance to record a seven-inning complete game shutout over Crown College last Monday during SVC's spring visit to Florida. The rookie struck out eight batters while giving up just two hits on the day for the Mountaineers' first win in their trip to the Sunshine State.

The Mountaineers are back in action this week with a Wednesday non-conference game at Eastern Nazarene College (11 a.m.) before starting the NECC slate with a weekend series at Newbury College.
