BENNINGTON, Vt. – The New England Collegiate Conference (NECC) announced Monday its weekly award winners for spring sports with Southern Vermont College’s Dylan Angelo (Ft. Johnson, N.Y.) picking up the Baseball Rookie of the Week honor.

Angelo had a huge start for the Mountaineers last Wednesday at Daniel Webster College, going all seven innings while allowing just two runs (one earned) on six hits and four walks in the 7-2 victory. He struck out two in the win, his fourth of the season. The rookie also picked up a pinch-hit RBI in a 5-3 win at Mass. College of Liberal Arts on Thursday, hitting a sacrifice fly in the ninth for an insurance run.

The rookie and his team return to NECC action Tuesday when they visit Elms College for a 5:30 p.m. rescheduled doubleheader with playoff implications on the line. SVC can clinch a postseason berth with a Tuesday sweep of the Blazers.
