BENNINGTON, Vt. – The New England Collegiate Conference (NECC) announced Monday its spring weekly awards for the period ending April 20, 2014 with Southern Vermont College sophomore RJ Pingitore (Amsterdam, N.Y.) being selected the Baseball Player of the Week.
Pingitore hit .600 for the week including an 8-14 weekend against NECC foe Lesley University. He had a multi-hit game in each of his contests, scoring five times and slugging .750. His week also included eight RBI's, six stolen bases, and only one strikeout. Pingitore fielded 1.000 for the week and pitched one inning, recording three strikeouts and no earned runs against.
The sophomore and the Mountaineers wrap up the NECC regular season schedule this week with a three-game series against both Daniel Webster College and then Elms College over the weekend.
