Player of the Week Recipe for Cook: Lots of hits, Several Runs, Numerous RBIs and a Touch of Defense

KANSAS CITY, Mo. - Southern Vermont College freshman catcher Dan Cook (Watervliet, N.Y.) is this week's Association of Division III Independents baseball Player of the Week. Cook accumulated 14 hits on the week, culminating in a .438 batting average. He recorded three doubles, nine RBIs, nine runs scored and committed zero errors. He also caught three base runners stealing. In his final game of the year he went four for four at the plate with three RBIs and three runs scored.

On the year, Cook finished with a team-record in hits (40). He also led the squad in batting average (.351) and RBIs (22).

Cook is the second Mountaineer to win the award. Sophomore Brett Pawlak (Anosonia, CT) garnered the distinction earlier this season.
