Pawlak Extends Hit Streak to Eight, But SVC Falls to MCLA

North Adams, MA-Brett Pawlak (Ansonia, CT) had a bases clearing triple, but it was not enough as the Southern Vermont College baseball team fell 16-6 to Massachusetts College of Liberal Arts in a NCAA Division III non-conference baseball game.

Pawlak connected on three hits for SVC for the third consecutive game. Pawlak has an eight-game hitting streak and is hitting .371 on the year. He added five RBI's. Freshman second baseman Dave Gage (Gloversville, NY) also tallied two hits, including a double and scored a run. Sophomore right fielder John Wallner (Manchester, VT) connected for two knocks. Freshman first baseman Tim Johnson (Bernardsville, NJ) cracked an RBI double to aid the Mountaineers cause. Freshman outfielder Kevin Warner (Averill Park, NY) recorded two runs for Southern Vermont.  Freshman left-hander Josh Fanion (Westfield, MA) threw two and two thirds and only allowed one hit.

Southern Vermont College (3-18) will host St. Michael's College Saturday for a double header starting at 12:00 p.m.
