ATTLEBORO, Mass. – The New England Collegiate Conference (NECC) announced on Monday its weekly award winners for the period ending September 9, 2018 with Southern Vermont College freshman Ahmyria Simmons (Silver Spring, Md.) being selected the Women's Cross Country Rookie of the Week.

Simmons crossed the line at 27:15 during the Castleton University Invitational—placing second for SVC and 15th overall. Her time was 3:51 seconds faster than her 5k mark from a week ago.

Southern Vermont is back in action this coming Saturday at Middlebury College's Aldrich Invitational with the race set to begin at 2 p.m.
