BENNINGTON, Vt. – The New England Collegiate Conference (NECC) announced Monday its weekly award winners with Bennington College junior Annika Kristiansen (Keene, N.H.) claiming the Women's Cross Country Runner of the Week for the period ending September 11, 2016 as a member of the Southern Vermont College squad.

Kristiansen finished in the top 10 once again this year on Saturday, coming through at seventh overall in the Castleton State Invitational. The junior was first for SVC, helping the Mountaineers take third as a team. She crossed the line with a time of 21:39, setting a pace of 6:59 per mile in the 5k race.

This is the second time in her career with SVC that Kristiansen is being honored by the Conference as she picked up an NECC Rookie of the Week accolade last year.

Kristiansen and the Mountaineers next head to Johnson State College this Saturday, trying to win the Badgers' meet for the second straight year.
