McGuire, Omasta Break Record List at NCAA Regional

GORHAM, Maine – Two members of the Southern Vermont College women's cross country team traveled this weekend to participate in the NCAA Regional Championship hosted by the University of Southern Maine.

Freshman Schyler McGuire (Mechanicville, N.Y.) crossed first for Southern Vermont with a time of 25:09.97, the second-best for a Mountaineer on a 6K course. Sophomore captain Haley Omasta (Danbury, Conn.) moves to fourth on the all-time SVC record list with a 25:58.18 showing, 53 seconds faster than her NCAA finish a year ago.

Williams College senior Kaleigh Kenny (Glen Rock, N.J.)helped the Ephs take the title, finishing first at 21:02.18. Middlebury College and Mass. institute of Technology finished second and third, respectively, in the team placings.
