BENNINGTON, Vt. – The New England Collegiate Conference (NECC) announced its weekly award winners for the period ending September 11, 2016 on Monday with Southern Vermont College freshman Sarah Billow (South Glens Falls, N.Y.) being selected as the Women’s Volleyball Rookie of the Week.

Billow had a solid week for Southern Vermont, helping the Mountaineers pick up their first two wins of the season. She charted six kills, five digs and four service aces in a huge five-set victory at Castleton State on Wednesday for SVC's first win of the year.

The freshman then recorded eight kills, five digs and six aces in a 3-0 sweep of Johnson State in the Mountaineers' first match of the weekend's Victory Promotions Invitational in Upstate New York.

Billow and SVC return to action on Tuesday with a 7 p.m. non-conference first serve at Utica College.
