Kaleopa Caps Career with All-NECC Women's Volleyball Third Team Selection

BENNINGTON, Vt. — The New England Collegiate Conference (NECC) announced on Monday its 2015 women's volleyball award winners and all-league teams with Southern Vermont College senior setter Sheilani Kaleopa (Riverside, Calif.) being voted to the All-NECC Third Team.

The Mountaineer captain is being honored by the Conference for the third straight year after garnering All-NECC Honorable Mentions each of the last two seasons. She tallied 307 assists in 2015 to go with 46 service aces, her .75 aces per set ranking third-best in the league. She added 124 digs and 44 kills on the campaign.

"I am happy that I had a chance to coach Sheilani," commented first-year SVC head coach Scott Fitzgerald. "She is a smart player who has accomplished many achievements as a student-athlete. Her ability to lead and be a team player will help her go far after she graduates."

Kaleopa finished her career with 1,278 assists, ranking third on the all-time SVC record list. She also put herself at third on the all-time career service aces chart, totaling 161 in her four years. The captain additionally recorded 458 digs and 123 kills in a Southern Vermont uniform.

Also collecting Conference laurels is SVC freshman Lizzy Bench (Saint Petersburg, Fla.) who was named to the inaugural All-Sportsmanship Team.
