HOLYOKE, Mass. — The Southern Vermont College women's volleyball team started its New England Collegiate Conference (NECC) schedule Saturday afternoon, falling 3-0 at Bartley Arena to Bay Path University.

BPU took the match in straight sets with scores of 25-14, 25-20, and 25-11.

The Mountaineers (1-8, 0-1 NECC) are next in action on Tuesday when they host Elms College for a 7 p.m. Conference contest.

SVC freshman Alycia Stevens (Hudson Falls, N.Y.) tallied her third double-double of the year, amassing match-highs of 10 kills and 10 digs. Junior Brin Goldman (Christiansted, Virgin Islands) followed with eight kills and three digs while senior setter Sheilani Kaleopa (Riverside, Calif.) popped up 16 assists to go with six digs.
