NASHUA, N.H. — The Southern Vermont College women's volleyball team lost 3-0 in a pair of non-conference matches at Daniel Webster College Saturday, falling to the hosting Eagles before being downed by Mount Ida College in straight sets.
DWC topped the Mountaineers with set scores of 25-10, 25-12, and 25-8 before Mount Ida defeated SVC by tallies of 25-14, 25-13, and 25-15.
Southern Vermont (1-7) is now off until Saturday, October 3 when the Mountaineers begin New England Collegiate Conference action with a 12:30 p.m. first serve at Bay Path University.

Daniel Webster swept Southern Vermont in the day's first match to avenge a 3-0 loss to the Mountaineers in 2014.
SVC freshman Alycia Stevens (Hudson Falls, N.Y.) led the team with four kills while adding two digs and two assists. Junior captain Brin Goldman (Christiansted, Virgin Islands) added three kills, four digs and a pair of service aces while senior captain Sheilani Kaleopa (Riverside, Calif.) had another three kills to go with her six assists and team-best six digs. Freshman Lizzy Bench (Saint Petersburg, Fla.) tied the team-high of six digs, and she had two service aces in the effort.

The Mustangs closed out a sweep in the second match of the day to even the young all-time series between the two teams at 1-1.
Goldman and Stevens each had four kills and eight digs to lead the Mountaineers, Goldman adding five service aces to her line. Kaleopa registered seven assists and four digs while Bench popped up another seven digs to go with a service ace.
