WILLIAMSTOWN, Mass. – In a non-conference women's volleyball tilt, Southern Vermont College lost 3-0 at Williams College Tuesday night in the third meeting in program history.
The Ephs took the match with game scores of 25-11, 25-15, and 25-16. Williams' attack was strong all night, recording set hitting percentages of .357, .300, and .357, respectively.
Mountaineer junior Jessica Delgado (Los Angeles, Calif.) led the team with five kills while she and senior libero Vanessa Ruelas (Paramount, Calif.) had eight digs apiece. Sophomore setter Sheilani Kaleopa (Riverside, Calif.) totaled 10 assists in the match.
Williams sophomore Katherine Lane (La Jolla, Calif.) had a match-high 14 kills as freshman Tori Jasuta (Manhattan Beach, Calif.) added 10 for the team. Sophomore Ryan Farley (La Jolla, Calif.) assisted on 34 of the 38 team kills while she and junior Amanda Schott (Niskayuna, Calif.) each recorded 10 digs.
Returning to New England Collegiate Conference (NECC) action, the Mountaineers (8-7, 5-0 NECC) visit Daniel Webster College Sunday for a 12 p.m. match while Williams (18-2, 7-0 NESCAC) hosts Colby College Saturday at 2 p.m. for a New England Small College Athletic Conference showdown.
