KEENE, N.H. – The Southern Vermont College women's volleyball team fell at Keene State University 3-0 Tuesday night in non-conference play in Spaulding Gym.
The Owls took the match with game scores of 25-5, 25-20, and 25-14.
Mountaineer junior Jessica Delgado (Los Angeles, Calif.) led the team with seven kills while senior Carrie Baltazar (Whittier, Calif.) followed with six. Senior Vanessa Ruelas (Paramount, Calif.) notched a team-high nine digs, and Baltazar chipped in another seven. Sophomore setter Sheilani Kaleopa (Riverside, Calif.) assisted on each of the team's 13 kills and added six digs and two service aces.
Owl sophomore Madeline Nossif (Portsmouth, N.H.) led all players with 12 kills, and sophomore libero Kaitlin Boyer (W. Greenwich, R.I.) recorded a match-high 11 digs. Sophomore setter Alexis Michal (Windham, N.H.) had 32 assists on the night.
The Mountaineers (3-5) take a break before returning to action next Thursday, September 26 when they visit Middlebury College (7 p.m.) in a rematch from last year's NCAA Regional contest which the Panthers won 3-1. Keene State (6-5, 0-1 Little East Conference) visits Rivier College Thursday for a 7 p.m. match.
