CASTLETON, Vt.- In an odd Women's Volleyball double header the Southern Vermont Mountaineers swept a pair of matches against two different teams, at two different locations. The Mountaineers traveled to Castleton St. College for a 4:00PM match and won 3-0. SVC then packed up and went 15 minutes down the road to play Green Mountain College. The Mountaineers pushed their win streak to 14 with a 3-0 win over Green Mountain.

In the first match against Castleton, SVC was led by Danielle Healis and AVCA National Player of the week Jessica Alvarez. Healis a Junior Middle, had 10 kills and only 1 error in 17 attempts. Alvarez went for a .474 hitting percentage with 12 kills on 19 attempts. Roxy Domines also played remarkable for the Mountianeers in the victory, with six kills on eight attempts, 15 assists, and four service aces.

Senior, Tasha Smith broke the SVC record for career blocks with a block solo and two block assists. In her four year career Smith has 87 blocks. Alicia Manzo and Domines combined with Smith on the block assists.

Healis made it a complete day in the second match of the evening when the junior again hit over .500. She connected on 11 kills in only 16 attempts for a .562 hitting percentage. Cindyline Sevilla also played well for SVC with eight kills on 12 attempts. Hershey Canta, continued to set the offense in the evening match with 28 assists. Manzo set a season high for the Mountaineers with 12 service aces in the contest.

Southern Vermont has now won 27 straight sets and are 23-2. The Mountaineers will look to tie the SVC All-Time win record Saturday afternoon when they host Regis College at 3:00PM.
