MARCY, N.Y. - The Southern Vermont women's volleyball team lost, for the second time this year, to SUNY-IT in non-conference play Wednesday 3-0 (25-8, 25-6, 25-11). Serve errors and ball handling errors played the biggest role in the loss for the Mountaineers.
Southern Vermont (0-16 overall and 0-5 in the NECC) was led by junior and captain Kayleigh Moretto (Bow, NH/Bow HS) who posted two kills, one dig, and two blocks for the Mountaineers who are struggling to find their first win of the season.
Freshman Stephanie Berard (Manchester Center, VT/Mount Anthony Union HS) freshman Shaniece Delgado (Bronx, NY/Sports Professionals HS), and sophomore Julia Fagan (New Britain, CT/New Britain HS) each had two assists for SVC. Delgado also added three kills and a dig.
The Mountaineers are back on the road when they face Becker and Bay Path in an NECC Tri-Match at Becker College.
