COBLESKILL, N.Y. - The Southern Vermont women's volleyball team was swept 3-0 (25-8, 25-12, 25-6) to SUNY-Cobleskill on road. This is the Mountaineers second loss against the Tigers in the 08' season.
With the loss SVC drops to 0-19 overall.
The Mountaineers could not muster up much offense or defense on the night struggling to score from the get go. Sophomore Kathleen Babcock (Vernon, CT/Rockville HS) and freshman Kristen Cummings (New Britain, CT/New Britain HS) were the only Southern Vermont players to convert kills.
The blocks were the only thing that kept the Mountaineers in the game. Sophomore Amber Coutermash (Westport, CT/Staples HS) led the blocking with three blocks out her seven attempts. Freshman Tasha Smith (Capital Heights, MD/Suitland HS) had two blocks as well and Babcock contributed one to round out the blocking attack.
Southern Vermont is back on the road against Lesley and Elms in a NECC Conference Tri-Match at Elms College on, Saturday, October 25.
