BENNINGTON, Vt. - The Southern Vermont women's volleyball team hosted SUNY-Cobleskill without one of their key players, freshman Kristen Cummings (New Britain, CT/New Britain HS), who will be out until at least next week with a knee injury. SVC lost three straight with game scores of: 25-8, 25-6, & 25-14.
The Mountaineers (0-11) could not recover from the Tigers polished serves and made some ball handling errors that cost them points. In game three with a few consecutive points SVC looked to be taking things into their own hands. The hometown crowd was behind them 100% but the run could not give them the momentum needed to win the game.
Sophomore Julia Fagan (New Britain, CT/New Britain HS) and freshman Joa Claircius (Clermont FL, East Ridge HS) each played well and had eight digs and five kills combined.
The Mountaineer women's volleyball team will be back on the court at home Saturday , September 27, against NECC foe Newbury. The game will be taking place at the SVC Field House (Mountaineer Gym) at 7:00PM.
