Bennington, VT- The Southern Vermont College women's volleyball team suffered defeat in their first match of the 2008 season Wednesday, dropping the contest to in-state rival Norwich 3-0. The Cadets won by scores of 25-3, 25-6 and 25-8.
Despite the lopsided score, head coach Tina Cook saw many positives in the team's home opener.
"It was a great first game" Cook said. "For a young team I thought we showed a lot of heart."
This courage was on display in front of a welcoming home crowd of over 100.
The next match for the women will be Thursday September 4th at Castleton State College.
