BENNINGTON, Vt. - The Southern Vermont women's volleyball, still looking for its first win of the season, hosted Lyndon State in a non-conference match Saturday. The Mountaineers with only six players suited up lost three straight games (25-4, 25-13, 25-5) to fall to 0-15 on the year.
Leading the way for SVC was sophomore Kathleen Babcock (Vernon, CT/Rockville HS) who had three kills, five digs, and a block.
The Mountaineers had a great run in the second game and looked to be turning around from their 25-4 first game blowout. But several ball handling errors and a few serving mistakes washed out their hopes for victory.
Southern Vermont freshman Tasha Smith (Capital Heights, MD/Suitland HS) had positive day on the court with two kills, two assists, and three digs.
The Mountaineers are back on the road when they face SUNY-IT Tuesday, October 14. The match starts at 7:00p.m.
