Women’s Volleyball Loses Momentum

LYNDONVILLE, Vt. - The Mountaineers started off strong in their first set but could not pull it together against in state opponent Lyndon State College. They lost by a score of  25-22, 25-14 and 25-8 at the Saturday tri-match hosted by the Lady Hornets.

Freshman Mountaineer Joa Claircius (Clermont FL, East Ridge HS) led the way with four service aces, one dig, one assist, and one kill. Defensively SVC (0-5) struggled to respond to LSC's polished game but Junior Laura Sullivan (New Fairfield, CT/New Fairfield HS) placed a good effort with five digs. Sullivan also had three service aces.

Lady Hornet Kayla Brobst led the way with seven aces, Michelle Petty chipped in four kills and Morgan Reilly had seven assists. Brobst and Ally Ciaramitaro had 17 digs each for LSC, who improved to 2-5 on the year.

The Mountaineer Women's Volleyball team will be back on the court Wednesday September 17th against MCLA (North Adams, MA) at 7:00PM on Amsler Gymnasium  at Massachusetts College of Liberal Arts.
