BENNINGTON, Vt. - Southern Vermont women's volleyball hosted Green Mountain Tuesday in what was there second meeting in three days. The Mountaineers could not muster up an advantage on their non-conference in-state rival to fall 3-0 with sets: 25-16, 25-7, 25-9.
Southern Vermont (0-14) junior and captain Kayleigh Moretto (Bow, NH/Bow HS) contributed in the effort with three kills, one ace, and four digs. Assisting Moretto with a few of her kills where freshman Joa Claircius (Clermont FL, East Ridge HS) and sophomore Kathleen Babcock (Vernon, CT/Rockville HS). Claircius also had six digs and one ace.
Green Mountain improves to 13-4 on the season, while the Mountaineers fell to 0-14 on the season. SVC will be looking for their first win this weekend in a non-conference tri-match against Lyndon State and Word of Life.
The Mountaineers host Lyndon State College and Word of Life Bible Institute at the SVC Field House Saturday, October 11. The games are at 12:00p.m. and 4:00p.m.
