BENNINGTON, Vt. - Southern Vermont's women's volleyball was no match for Daniel Webster who holds the first place spot atop the New England Collegiate Conference (NECC). The Mountaineers played some good sets against the first place opponent but could not pull off the victory with 25-13. 25-11, & 25-14 games to lose in a 3-0 sweep.
SVC sophomore Julia Fagan (New Britain, CT/New Britain HS) led the way with seven digs and one kill for the Mountaineers. Also posting a strong performance was freshman Kaitlyn Chadbourne (Chester, Vt./Springfield HS) who had two very nice blocks, two kills, and three digs in the match. Freshman Joa Claircius (Clermont FL, East Ridge HS) had one kill, 2 assists, and five digs; while Kristen Cummings (New Britain, CT/ New Britain HS) rounded out the SVC defense with six digs.
The Mountaineer women's volleyball team will be back on the court at home Tuesday ,September 23, against SUNY Cobleskill. The game will be taking place at the SVC Field House (Mountaineer Gym) at 7:00PM.
