BENNINGTON, Vt. — A day after being named the New England Collegiate Conference Women's Soccer Rookie of the Week for the period ending September 13, 2015, Southern Vermont College freshman Molly Madore (Higganum, Conn.) was tabbed the Eastern College Athletic Conference Division III New England Rookie of the Week on Tuesday.

Madore had a great week for the Mountaineers, helping them go 2-0. She scored her first two collegiate goals and her second assist of the year in SVC's 7-1 win at SUNY Cobleskill on Saturday; six of her nine shots against the Fighting Tigers were on net. The rookie also played a pivotal role in Southern Vermont's 1-0 win at Morrisville State on Wednesday night, helping the Mountaineers control the game through the midfield and own a 24-4 edge in total shots. 

The accolade is the first for an SVC women's soccer player since goalie Melissa Mascari (Saratoga Springs, N.Y.) picked up the same honor on October 21 last season and the first for any Southern Vermont student-athlete this academic year.
