BENNINGTON, Vt. – Voting by women’s soccer coaches throughout the New England Collegiate Conference (NECC) has been tallied with four Southern Vermont College Mountaineers receiving all-conference honors, three being named to the All-NECC First Team.

SVC seniors Kaitlyn Forant (Hardwick, Vt.), Jocelyn Ortega (Chula Vista, Calif.), and Erika Garay (Walnut, Calif.) were all selected to the First Team, Forant for the second time in as many years after a season in which she scored seven goals (two game-winners), effectively becoming the College’s all-time leading scorer; she added four assists for 18 points. Ortega gathers her second consecutive all-conference nod, being named to the All-NECC Second Team in 2012. She helped run the Southern Vermont midfield this year while scoring five goals (one game-winner) and adding two assists. The First Team honor for Garay is her first All-NECC accolade, gathering the award by being a pivotal leader in a Mountaineer defense that helped allow just 1.91 goals per game.

Junior Michelle Flores (Pico Rivera, Calif.) collected a Second Team All-NECC selection with a 2013 season that saw her play a huge role in the Mountaineer defense while also adding three goals and an assist.
