ATTLEBORO, Mass. – On Monday, Southern Vermont College junior Maddy Main (Bennington, Vt.) was named the New England Collegiate Conference (NECC) Women's Basketball Rookie of the Week for the period ending January 14, 2018—garnering the recognition for the fourth time this year.

Main was outstanding for SVC in the Mountaineers' two NECC games last week as she notched her sixth and seventh double-doubles of the season—making it four in-a-row for the junior rookie. She averaged 18.5 points, 16.0 rebounds, 3.5 steals, and 2.0 assists per game across the two contests.

Main registered 19 points while dominating the glass with 22 boards in a Thursday win at Bay Path University; that rebound mark was a season-high and came just three shy of SVC's single game record. She also registered four steals and three assists against the Wildcats. The Mountaineer followed that with an 18-point performance against Mitchell College on Saturday while pulling down 10 caroms and grabbing another three steals.

Main and the Mountaineers resume the NECC schedule on Thursday when they host Elms College for a 7 p.m. tip-off.
