WESTON, Mass. – The Southern Vermont College women's basketball team played its final game of the New England Collegiate Conference (NECC) schedule Saturday afternoon—falling 81-30 to Regis College at Higgins Court.

The Pride used the opening 10-minute period to stake a 27-4 upper hand, and they would pad their cushion through the remainder of the contest to conclude a perfect season in league play.

SVC (1-23, 1-17 NECC) wraps up the 2016-17 campaign on Monday as the Mountaineers host Dean College for a 3 p.m. Presidents' Day non-conference tip-off.

Southern Vermont freshman Sarah Poirier (Ferrisburg, Vt.) notched a team-best 11 points while adding three rebounds off the bench, and classmate Taylor Mallett (Berwick, Maine) chipped in with eight points, three boards, three assists and a pair of steals. Junior Chloe Longe (Enosburg Falls, Vt.) had an SVC-leading four rebounds in the effort.

RC scored the first 14 points of the game and never looked back. Mallett dropped in a layup to break up that scoreless stretch for SVC, but the Pride continued to connect into the second period for a comfortable advantage. Southern Vermont sophomore Amber Lesure (Cheshire, Mass.) and Poirier each dropped in a triple before halftime, only to see Regis stay well in front by the intermission.

Poirier would knock down another pair of treys during the final 20 minutes while freshman Bree Soucy (Salem, Mass.) hit one of her own.
