BENNINGTON, Vt. – For the second week this season, Southern Vermont College freshman Amber Flagg (Windsor, Conn.) has been named the New England Collegiate Conference (NECC) Women's Basketball Rookie of the Week (for week ending 12/16/12). Flagg garnered the accolade after the first week of the season back in November.
The freshman guard dropped 22 points in the Mountaineers' only game of the week, a 73-54 loss at home to Green Mountain College. The 5-5 captain also grabbed six boards and recorded three assists and four steals in the game. She was 7-8 from the free throw line.
Flagg is currently third in the NECC with 16.9 points per game and is first in the conference for free throw percentage (85.7).
Flagg and the Mountaineers return to action January 3rd when they welcome Mass. College of Liberal Arts to the SVC campus for a 7 p.m. tip.
