BENNINGTON, Vt. – Southern Vermont College freshman Amber Flagg (Windsor, Conn.) has been named the New England Collegiate Conference (NECC) Women’s Basketball Rookie of the Week for the week ending November 18^th after the first batch of games in the 2012-13 season.

                In the Curry Tip-Off Tournament this past weekend against Curry College and Johnson State College, Flagg averaged 14.5 points per game, being named to the All-Tournament Team along the way.  The 5-5 guard also grabbed seven rebounds per game in the two Mountaineer loses.

                Head coach Mike Quinn said of Flagg’s accolade, “I’m very happy for her.  She performed much higher than I had expected she would for her first two collegiate games.”

                Flagg and Southern Vermont don’t play until November 27^th when they visit New England College for a 6 p.m. tip.
