Women's Basketball Defeated by St. Joseph's (Conn.)

WEST HARTFORD, Conn. – St. Joseph's (Conn.) defeated Southern Vermont Women's Basketball 77-34 in a non-conference game tonight. Joa Claircius led the Mountaineers with nine points and nine rebounds. SVC falls to 7-16 overall while St. Joseph's improves to 17-5.

The Mountaineers shot a low 17.6% from the floor only scoring 14 points in the first half of play. St. Joseph's shot 37.2% and breaks the school record for most wins in a regular season.

Four players for St. Joseph's scored in the double digits. Diamond Doe led the team with 22 points while Nathalie Mastarreno, Mary Hyde and Devon Diliberto added 14, 12 and 12 respectively. Courtney Cesca grabbed 10 rebounds in the win.

Abby Riedel and Rita Hall each had nine rebounds for SVC. Kourtney Hewitt added six boards.

The Mountaineers return to action on Thursday, February 17th against Becker. Tip-off is set for 6:00 p.m.
