KANSAS CITY, Mo. - Julia Fagan (New Britain, CT/New Britain), a freshman forward from Southern Vermont College, was named to the first team of the Association of Division III Independents (AD3I). She was also named Rookie of the Year. Junior forward Markeisha Mullen (Baltimore, MD/Walbrook) was selected to the second team.
Fagan was one of only two freshman in the nation in the top 60 in Division III in four statistical catergories. She was 14th in points (20.3), 36th in steals (3.3), 40th in rebounds (10.4), and 58th in blocks (1.8).
"Julia had a fabulous year in the green and white," said head women's basketball coach Benjamin Kozik. "Her athleticism and effort combined to make her one of the best freshman in the nation."
